How Masked Diffusion Models Generate Text Differently

Masked diffusion models generate text by systematically corrupting it and then learning to reverse the damage, a departure from sequential autoregressive methods. This approach enables parallel processing, iterative refinement, and bidirectional context, offering advantages in speed and control for specific text generation tasks.
